The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from August 15, 2019. Passes.
ACO's Report
• Birdie -Jeff and Ana will contact American Bulldog rescues to see if they will take
Birdie.
• Scout is a lab mix who is on hold because the owner is hospitalized after an accident.
• Jeff and Ana reiterated that visitors should not interact with unvaccinated animals.
Carol had signs made to that effect.
Cats
• Tigger is scheduled to have an endoscopy at Tufts on Sept. 241h.
Dr. Trapani picked up a scrawny stray cat that had been thrown on the road from a
car. Dr. Trapani will examine the cat, and MSF will cover expenses. If the cat is
reasonably healthy, it will probably come to the shelter. The cat was found in
Norton, and the Norton AWC was notified.
Maintenance
Several screens have holes that are too large or too many for small screen patches. Jeff
will look into getting the screens rescreened with heavy duty screening. Screens in the
infirmary and one of the small playrooms are especially in need of repair.
