John D'Agostino, Town Manager
The Board of Selectmen's meeting was called to order at 7:30pm, followed by the Pledge
of Allegiance.
Ed Rosenberg Treasurer, Exalted Ruler Owens, Gail Farrugia COA Director
$628.00 and $872.00 checks presented to Gail Farrugia for the COA program.
$1,500 in total donated to the fuel assistance program.
The Board and Gail thanked the Elks for their generous donations.
Thanked the Board for appointing him to this Board as he has learned a lot in the past
years.
The Federal government will start to withhold money from the State if it does not work on
repairing bridges. The State is working thru SPREDD on the Rt. 106 underpass project.
The State wants to ensure that all bridges are funded and brought up to shape. This is a
top priority item for the State right now. Also they would like to continue monitoring the
School St. / Rt. 140 Intersection as it still may need attention.
The South Coastal Rail project is also underway right now and the Attleboro Route is being
strongly discouraged by the area towns due to its impact on the area.
In 1995 to 2002 the Stoughton route was deemed to be the best route available due to
many factors. Since then more routes have been proposed. There is currently one
Attleboro route under consideration that would affect Mansfield.
The majority of area SPREDD reps. favor the Stoughton route. However, there is talk of
a Middleboro route that would service a possible casino there.

Overall the Board would favor the Stoughton route but they would like more information
on the different routes such as which lines are currently in existence and which are
proposed.

take back to SRPEDD to please contact him.
· FY09 budget projections are due soon and level services may not be possible

"reverter clause" in the RFP. The Selectmen as the overseeing Board of this
process will have to decide on whether to keep this clause in the final RFP.

the website.
· GIS services are now available online through the Assessors link on the town's
