The Board of Selectmen's meeting was called to order at 7:30pm, followed by the Pledge

Airport Commission members in addition to Dave Dineen, Airport Manager and Police Chief
Arthur O'Neill / Fire Deputy Chief Jim Puleo were also present.
The airport training drills they have been conducting have really paid off as the rescue and
recovery at the crash scene went off without a hitch. As there was an event at the
airport that day; extra public safety and airport staff were present and able to respond
quickly to the crash.
There were 4 priority one victims involved in the crash. They were all extracted from the
plane and in transit to the hospital within 57 minutes of the crash: Deputy Chief Puleo
stated that without the training and great working relationship between the airport, fire
and police the response to this tragedy would not have gone off so seamlessly.
Mr. Dineen has met with the Airport Commission and pub lit s6Tetydepts. in regards to this
accident. They have overviewed the situation and have increbsedfhe availability of
training for local pilots and public safety officials. FAA regulations are strictly enforced
and pilots are counseled if they are not in compliance. The airport was closed for hours
after the crash however; it was open for business by the end of the day.

Selectman Levine: She was amazed at how well the staff handled every detail of the
situation. She watched from afar and it was obvious that, theywere well trained to handle
the situation.
Town Manager D'Agostino stated that he always stresses that the Police and Fire staff
work together and this shows just how well they do. He believes we have some of the best
staff in the State.
Chairman Amoruso stated that he was away when he was~otifi'ed of accident. However; he
was confident that the situation was under control as he was aware of all the fine people
we have on staff. . .
Catherine Ann Memory had had a long career in municipal workinaddition to mental health
work. She is semi-retired and is interested in serving on the Board. She has spoken with
the Health Agent, Scott Leite several times over the past year for different health
related issues and she was impressed with his dedication to the residents needs.
Comments from the Board:
Selectman Dentino: Wonderful resume. He appreciates her willingness to serve.
Selectman Levine: As you have spoken with the Health Ag~r1tt assume you are familiar
with all the roles that Board members play? Yes she is.
Selectman McCarter: Thank you for your interest.
Selectman Baldwin: Thank you and good luck.
Chairman Amoruso: I assume due to your background that you'have no problem saying no
to people when necessary. No, she does not. Thank you for ydurservice to the Town the
Board and the Townspeople are lucky to have you.

Review of Pinnacle Partners offer of $50K for extension of sewer and Fairfield offer of
$75k for use of sewer sleeve by John Sullivan. The possibility of the Board putting an
article on the Special Town Meeting warrant for the discontinuance of Old School St. was
discussed as well. If Town Meeting does approve this Pinnacle'would pay the Town another
$50k. .
Lee Azinheira talked briefly about the Plymouth St/Forbes ,Blvd. pump st(ltions.
Selectman Dentino asked where they are on the map. John Sullivan discussed their
locations on the map. The location of the sewer sleeves had'to be verified before any work

for Mansfield Crossing could be done. Phase #1 costs have exceeded the original
estimates and Phase II and III will cost significantly more. Design work and bidding of
phase IV is budgeted for $650K.
Questions on what buildings will this sewer tie in support in the Industrial Park? Mr.
Azinheira states that some buildings in the park will benefit however there will also be
some residential benefit in the West St. area as well. He further states that this is to
improve a failing situation not just an upgrade to the Business Park. The DPW will get the
list to the Board of who is and is not on sewer vs. septic. It is a report that can be
generated by the DPW office however it takes time to do so and the office has been short
staffed due to illness of key personnel.
John Sullivan stated that this will improve the sewer capaCity of the entire area and whom
will use it cannot be quantified until people or businesses use the property available in the
area. Selectman Dentino still does not believe that the benefits of this pump station
project will justify the costs of the project. He needs hard data to analyze in order to
support this plan.
Ken Hackett states the Hampton Road pump station was built in 1974 and the Plymouth St.
pump station in the early 80's. John Sullivan goes on to say the ground work and sewer
sleeves are already in place and the area is underserved for the capacity that it needs.
Selectman McCarter asks about the life expectancy of the pump stations. Is it twenty to
thirty years? Yes, they are and the current pump stations'are-well past that. Will this
sewer expansion allow the Business Park to expand? Yes, and some of the park is due for
revitalization of use. Gravity systems are preferable to pump systems as nature does the
work vs. mechanical parts.
Lee Azinheira was present.
