Status of Parking Signs
o Mark Cook advised that two (2) signs were installed for the Committee's viewing.
One (1) sign to be viewed at the comer of Thomas Avenue & Old Colony that
will be used general parking areas and one (1) sign at the North Main Street
Parking Lot (Mansfield Bank) that highlights 2 -hour free parking.
o The committee will view these signs and provide their feedback.
Holiday Decor
o There was discussion on improvements to the Downtown Holiday Decor. The
group viewed the Rileigh's Outdoor Decor catalog and made suggestions for
simple holiday d6cor. It was suggested to wrap every other pole with pre -lit
artificial garland but this will require electrical outlets on the electric light poles in
the downtown. This will not be accomplished for this season. However, banners
could be done for this season. The group liked a swag replacement for the current
"Season's Greetings" to simple garland with a wreath in the middle that is lit for
both sides of the pedestrian bridge across Route 106 Chauncey Street. The
current wreaths that hang from the telephone poles will also be updated but
simply a new version. Lastly, a tall artificial pre -lit tree was also suggested for
North and South Commons.
o Kevin will check on pricing and options that are available for this season. A
follow-up discussion will be needed with the Electric Department and the Board
of Electric Commissioners for their sponsorship.
Wayfinding Signs
o Mark Cook and others participated in a discussion regarding the type and amount
of wayfinding sings to direct the motoring public to Downtown. It was suggested
to have the Town's parking consultant Nelson Nygaard to review and make
recommendations if they have prior experience in this area.
o It was suggested to put a place holder for this item for an appropriation to cover
this expense on the Special Fall Town Meeting,
Old Colony Parking Lot Lights & Street Repairs:

will be torward the end of October. Reclamation of the roadway and a binder

• Restaurant Parking Article
o I explained to the group that this issue will not be ready for the Special Fall Town
Meeting. This will be revisiting by the Planning Board in conjunction with the
Downtown Committee and the Parking Consultant Nelson Nygaard over the next
several months.
