If the plan was fully funded today the normal cost for Select Board Meeting Minutes February 6, 2019 Fiscal Year 2020 would be approximately $500,000 to $750,000. Mr. Schoonveld then discussed OPEB - Other Post Employment Benefits and stated that like many towns throughout Massachusetts the liability has not been prefunded here in Mansfield. Mr. Schoonveld stated that over the next ten years our budget should not be significally impacted, but after that point it could. He believes the Town should begin to increase the prefunded amount each year, especially with the savings in the budget for health insurance. Chairman Trowbridge stated that placing more into OPEB may cause a strain on the current budget.
