Discussions:
The following is a brief summary of discussions as there was no quorum present:
1. Discussion about Land Acquisitions
• The Kok family has let it be known they are willing sellers and would like to
proceed even if not by eminent domain. Bill Ross indicated he believes Mansfield
should move forward with purchasing the Kok property. All in attendance agreed.
2. Discussion with Roy Kok
• Brief discussion about how the three towns would like to develop a plan to move
forward with purchase of Mr. Kok's property since he is a willing seller. Need to
overcome perception issues if Mansfield purchases the land in Norton. May be
best to have a fully executed Purchase & Sale Agreement to bring to a town
meeting this Fall.
• Mr. Kok indicated that perception issues he has heard raised by neighbors include
1.) that people in area would not be drinking sewage; 2.) that Nature Conservancy
does or does not support the project; and 3.) that project will not flood
surrounding areas.
