The Utility in the Town Right of Way policy was established in November 2002 as the Town had been experiencing a large number of requests for utility locations or extensions. Although the phone company has had a few issues with this policy, it has worked rather well for the past five years. Verizon does not like our policy but has not specifically stated what it is they don't like. The fees and detailed plans that the Town requires could be sticking points for Verizon per Mr. Azinheira's conversation with the Verizon Rep. Mr. Cologne. The Board asked Mr. Azinheira to discuss this issue further with Verizon and see if we can work out our differences. Selectman Dentino brought up the fact that the Board went through a similar situation with Bay State Gas a few years and we should review the outcome of that meeting. · Expansion/change of Mansfield Green hours.
