They have decided to go with Shaw to do the work. Sherri Gurnon asked the Recreation Commission if they want to financially contribute towards the project and if so, how much? Ms. Gurnon stated that we only use the fields 6 hours a week, and MYS dominates the bulk of the times available. They won't relinquish more time to the Parks and Recreation so we can rent it out more and receive income from the rental. Ed Westhaver stated that after seeing how little we use the fields, he feels that give 25% seems sufficient ($5,000). Mr. Westhaver suggested keeping money in the field maintenance account in case something major happens to any of the fields, and we will need to use the money from the account to pay for it. Mr. Westhaver also stated that MYS uses the fields the majority of time and gain revenue from it with their program registrations and they use the fields for free.
