A meeting of the Mansfield School Committee Budget Subcommittee was opened,

SC Members Present: Lynn Cavicchi, Jenn Walsh (arrived 7:16 p.m.)
Others present: Teresa Murphy, Superintendent
Ed Donoghue, Assistant Superintendent, Finance and Operations
The Finance Committee opened their meeting at 7 p.m. Superintendent Teresa Murphy began the FY19 budget
presentation for the school department. Subcommittee member Jenn Walsh arrived at 7:16 p.m.
Teresa gave a high-level overview of district highlights and factors impacting district financials, including staffing, collective
bargaining, school choice, school fees, state and federal grants, district gifts and donations, enrollments, and changing
demographics of student population (increase in ELL, social -emotional needs, and students on 504 accommodation plans
and Individual Education Plans (IEPs)
Ed gave an overview of the school department FY19 budget request, including requests for four positions not included in
the budget request. The school committee has not yet prioritized those positions. Ed also provided a summar of total costs
from all sources of funds (operating budget, grants, and revolving funds).
There was no discussion or vote taken by subcommittee members.
