d. Tobacco violations: Compliance checks were conducted on July 20th. 10 out of 18 retailers
sold tobacco to our under age youth. Three were second offenses this year and were issued
$100 citations. A recheck will be held and any repeat violators will be summonsed to the
Board of Health for license suspension.

b. Food Certification expirations: State of MA requires all food establishments to have a certified
Person in Charge (PIC). However, there is no expiration or renewal dates issued under the
food code. So although some courses given by different providers have expiration dates on
their certifications, the Board decided not to require all PIC's to renew their certifications, as
the state food code does not specify any renewal requirements.
c. Complaints on animal waste: The Board members as well as the Health Dept. staff have
received complaints on animal waste (primarily dogs) in public places such as Fulton's Pond.
Requesting Selectmen to place signage in publiC places through out town notifying residents to
dispose of their animal's waste.
