Notice of Public Hearing
The Board of Selectmen (the "Board") will hold a Public Hearing on WednessddaX, �gvember
15, 2017 at 7:00 P.M. at the Town Hall, 6 Park Row, Mansfield, MA finAAe ke �n Meeting
Room 3 A/B, in accordance with M.G.L. Chapter 140, Section 157 to investigate an alleged
violation of the Order (the "Order") that was issued by the Board dated Seplemb'et 1'2,-2017 after
a public hearing held by the Board on September 6, 2017 for the dog B B. (fh'e "dog") owned by
Dan Clemmey of 65 Old Farm Road, Mansfield, MA 02048 (the "domicile").
The Order found that the dog was a nuisance to the community and requires that the dog be
restrained on a leash under the control of an individual capable of restraining the dog at all times
when outside of the domicile. The Order also requires that the domicile be properly locked so
that a child cannot open the door to let the dog outside of the domicile, or that there be a fenced
and gated area that complies with proper building codes and security for the dog on the
domicile's premises.
The Board shall investigate at the Public Hearing an allegation that the dog was outside the
domicile and not leashed or secured within a fenced and gated area on October 16, 2017 and bit a
child. The Board shall consider at the Public Hearing whether to order one or more of the actions
set forth in M.G.L. c.140, Section 157(c), including without limitation that the dog be humanely
restrained, confined to the premises of the keeper of the dog or humanely euthanized.
Anyone wishing to be heard at the Public Hearing should appear at the time and place
designated.
