The Animal Welfare Committee meeting was called to order at 7:05 p.m. at Mansfield Airport.
Approve Minutes
Motion: To approve the minutes from December 2017. Passes.
ACO Report
• Banks, a 14 year old dog surrendered this week, will be PTS because of serious health
problems.
• Two other dogs, Elvis and Peaches, were surrendered this week. Jeff and Sue will
observe and evaluate them before putting them up for adoption.
• Clarence, a cat who was brought to the shelter as a stray, was found to have an owner.
Clarence will stay in his new home because he was adopted 18 days after being
brought to the shelter, and the required waiting period is 7 —10 days.
• Wilson, being treated for heartworm, is doing well and will have another checkup on
the 24th. He has two adoption applications.
• Spot, the aggressive Foxboro cat, tested negative for rabies.
• Jeff repeated that we should accept stray animals only from Mansfield residents.
Maintenance
Sharon offered the MSF credit card for use in purchasing 10 replacement kennel flaps.
Six of the current flaps are chewed to pieces. MSF would be reimbursed by the town. Jeff
will look into it, and consult Mike Ahern.
