\Ir t iazzolo asked if the lead paint were to be removed; Mr. Lynch explained it would be

no formal vote by the School Committee to verify that.
3. Discussion of Priorities
Mr. Dolan suggested voting on the large -ticket items first.
Mr. D'Agostino explained the Essex Street land acquisition request for 19 acres (5-8
buildable lots) The landowner has an offer of $1.1 million, but would accept payment of
half up front, and the other half over 10 years.
Mr. D'Agostino said there is approximately $210,000 in available funds from the Great
Waves fund and the Conservation Commission Open Space Acquisition Account which
might be used for the Essex Street property.
Mr. DelVecchio said the $60,000 from the Great Waves fund should be generally
available, unlike the Conservation Commission money, which was specifically
appropriated for open space acquisition.
Mr. Wills suggested a separate article to borrow the money for the Essex Street property.
Mr. D'Agostino said perhaps that $210,000 could be used, $290,000 appropriated, and
another $500,000 financed.
The committee discussed possible uses for the Essex Street land, including active
recreation.
Following discussion of each request, the committee voted to remove the following items
from the budget: Mobile Speed Radar Trailer; Police Storage Building; Fire Department
Ford Explorer; Squad 92.
