The meeting began with Chad Maurer distributing a handout showing the FINCOM's
recommendations on the budget.. A summary of the article to be presented at the
town meeting were reviewed and discussed.. The Capital Improvements budget was
discussedfurther along with the Public Works Dept. appropriations.
The Board of Selectman discussed in detail the subject of new personnel in the various
town departments. Specifically discussed were the Right to Know clerk, Fire Dept.
Call Men, and a new clerk for the Fire Dept. The Board of Selectman also agreed
to support a $200,000 reduction in the School Committee budget. Their vote on this
item was unanimously in favor.
Transfers:
The following transfer requests were approved by the FinCom:

$375.72 Electrical Inspectors Fee (no account 11 given)
The Finance Committe voted on the following items.
A unanimous vote in favor for not printing the selectmans recommendations in the
Town Warrent Dotson/Quinn
A unanimous vote in favor of placing an asterisk next to all line atems for which
the selectman expressed a differance to the FinCom reccomendation. Dotson/Quinn
A unanimous vote was taken to support the Police Dept. appropriations Dotson/Quinn
A motion was made to eliminate new positions within the Fire Dept. and to
reinstate the call men line item to the amount originally stated in the budget.
This motion failed 3-3 McQuade/Quinn
A motion was made but not seconded to hire two new firemen and to fund the call men at a
cost of $21,900.
A motion was made to hire one new fireman and to fund the call men at $21,900.
The motion failed 4-2 Quinn/McQuade.
Adjournment was at 12:35
