FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETINGLLT- ---

Called to order at 6:30 P.M. by Chairman Ed McQuaid. 7 members present.
PURPOSE To finalize the Finance Committee's budget recommendations.
1. It was decided to fund the increased salary request by
lowering the funding for construction supplies.
a. by shifting $1,700 from the $20,000 of auditing
expense to water and sewer.
2. At the previous Selectmen's meeting a study group had
recommended a recalculation of pension benefits and
expenses on the Town Manager's auto. Both are by
contract and had been considered by the Finance Committee
when lowering construction supplies.
In addition, they recommended 14% after much discussion
and on a 4 to 3 vote it was felt that 14% violated the
Finance Committee's original goal of staying within the
6% cap set by the advisory vote of 1984.
Meeting adjourned 7:30 P.M.
