Coach Certification: There are now 14 coaches for
basketball with 3 more becoming certified in January, There
are presently 178 children participating in the program,
three with scholarships. We have a new program director, Pat
Burns. Lorilee is "super -impressed" he is doing an
incredible job. Lorilee is going to recommend him, to the
Women of Today, for the position of commentator at the
Patriots Basketball Game.
Lorilee read an article presented to the Commission by
Lt. Col. Lester McGoldrick. The Article stated that we
should take the land that borders the railroad bed and secure
it as recreation land. This would benefit our Rails to
Trails program and protect the land from being developed.
Charlotte makes a motion to accept this article for the
Warrant. Allan seconds the motion.
Charlotte read the Recreation Departments Annual Report
and makes a motion to accept it. Dick seconds the motion.
Lorilee will be meeting with the Finance Commission on
9aturday. January 36. She is prepared for the meeting and
gave a summary of the Revolving Account.
Lorilee is responsible for setting up the Certification
Clinics for all organized sports. There is a $pOO per couch
reimbursement. Presently Lorilee deposits the money into the
revolving account, Linda feels that this money should go to
Lorilee. Steve feels that the money should go into the
revolving account/ a more cautious approach is better.
Lorilee will continue to deposit the money into the revolving
account.

writing.
Steve would like to see a letter go to Judy Scott, Town
Clerk, regarding the cancellation of meetings, Our meeting
is cramped into the Recreation Office Room when we could have
met in one of the bigger rooms due to the Historical
Commission not meeting. However, the room the Historical
Commission had reserved was still posted even though no
meeting was held.
An ice skating party is planned for February 26, at
Fultons Pond. We will use the P.A. System to play music,

enough cold weather to keep the ice safe.
