The summer camp secretary will be hired back. Comment made by Steve was that a,parent would not like to call down to the office and find a counselor manning the phones and not know what is going on with the children. It .is very important that a secretary is in the office at all times to'handle 'any problems that may arise. Sumner camp activities were discussed and comments were made that the programs should be a little different from last year. we do not want the rkids coming back to summer camp to be bored. Maryanne's feelings were that she would like to see more efficient ways ;to run the camp. She was in agreement that the summer camp; tuition should be raised to $290, and the summer camp secretary should be kept in place. Ron was also in agreement to accept the fees and the secretary. He also would like to look at cost cutting measures. Possibly putting a freeze on increasing '< wages for counselors this year. Scholarships - 57 scholarships were given out last year. Ron suggested that some limits be put on scholarships. He would rather see more paying campers then non paying. Maryanne suggested that we set up written guide lines for scholarship applications. Maybe ask to see income tax form. ,.` Lorilee asked the board to set up guide lines for her to go by. Scholarship applications close on May 28. fp E r Bus fees are higher for this years camp. Percentage wise, it costs more money , for half day trips, than whole day trips and most of our trips are half days. Policy statement on children's pickup time - The sub -committee suggested that each parent that fails to pickup their child by closing time, be charged $10.00 for each 2 hour they are late. Counselors stay with these children until they are picked up by the parent and they should be paid for the extra time. Ron and Maryanne were in full agreement of this policy.
