The School Dept. will contribute $1,000. for personnel & clay, the Booster Club will pay $500. for personnel, and we will pay $.1,300. to cover the cost of sod for the infield. We are still $500. short for the "Fenway Mix", but we are still waiting for an answer from the Adult Men's Baseball League ,whether or riot they will be able to contribute. All agreed that we should go ahead with the project. TABLED: Ice Technology - Lorilee explained that when/if we win the suit the money will go to the General Revenue Account and that we will have to request from the Selectmen to have the money put back in revolving. It seemed to be the consensus of .the commission that, pending .the status of the revolving account, the money should stay in the General Revenue Account. APPOINTMENTS 7:30 PM - Press Box - Bruce Glazer of Cable 8 T.V., - Discussion on the expansion of the press box at Memorial Park. Bruce expressed that the ladder to the press box is very hazardous due to the fact that it is 30' straight up on the outside of the building without guards. Currently the box is 20' x 12'; he would like to see it expanded to 28' x 8' with an 8' extension for a staircase with a ladder to roof from the inside. He estimated that the labor would cost 3-4K and the materials 6-8K. - The commission suggested he get the Grid Iron Club, the Booster Club, the School System, Midget Football, Youth Soccer, and the various News Agencies to sponsor this project. Also that Southeastern Regional Technical School may be able to do the labor for free. Lorilee will look into having the Town Engineers assist in architectural plans. - The new press box would also be designed to be used for the field planned for where the practice field is now. - Lorilee noted that any renovations done to the building must bring the building up to code which is speculated not to be up to code currently. The commission agreed that signs be posted on the press box stating the potential hazard of using the ladder and that individuals will assume the risk of an accident and that the Town of Mansfield will not be held responsible. 8:OOPM - Adult Volleyball - Theresa Anderson, Nancy diPadua, and Ralph Deckert, Program Coordinator Discussion on expanding the ,enrollment from 36 to include those on the waiting list equalling a registration maximum of 52 participants.
