Alan based the success of the camp this year on the creativity of the the counselors. Some of the new activities the counselors ran were Mardi Gras Day, "Campstock" - in celebration of the 25th anniversary of Woodstock, a Hawaiian Luau, and alip sinking contest. Alan also felt the longer orientation (3 days) was a great success in the preparation of the camp program and staff. The orientation included talks on typical behavior of certain age kids, ways to improve camp, inventory of supplies and equipment, a 1 day new games workshop, and an American Red Cross First Aid and CPR workshop. When asked about first aid Alan mentioned that there is a bee hazard and they often have to treat campers and staff for bee stings. When asked about facility improvements Alan suggested a pool. Lorilee suggested 1 two week period where we offer transportation to Easton Town Pool for swimming lessons. Alan said we need to attract more kids to be C.I.T.'s - perhaps by paying them. Ron asked Lorilee to look into the swim lessons, raises for the counselors, and ways to attract more C.I.T.'s. Field expansion - If we expand and add one more field at Memorial Park the School Department may apply for funds then the expenses can be 67% reimbursed by the state.
