Camunity Calendar - Diane Troy and Jim Troy carne to give an update on the
Community Calendar.
Jim presented to the board 6 months of information and a sample of the layout
of the calendar. He also con<mented not to worry about the layout. we can
move things around or make the information bigger on the page. The most
important thing right new is the information in the calendar.
Discussion frau the board was to maybe have an index; keep sports as close
to the months as possible; have Recreation logo in the boxes next to the
event so the public can see what we run for programs; a page to support our
advertisers; a directory. If we have additional space give a pluc,, to our
programs. The board decided to:
Page 1 Support our Advertisers
Page 2 School Information
Page 3 High School Sports Information
Page 4 Start the months - September, etc.
Lorilee.wwill be going over all the information with Diane. Jim also commented
that we can change the calendar around if needed.
"3 on 3" Basketball - Fred Iappam who is a manager for basketball league
wanted to asked the board if they would reconsider to have standings for
the "3 on 3" basketball league. We have 14 teams and 98 guys in the league.
The league is going very well this year with no problems. Each manager
handles his own team if their are problems. The men on the teams would like
to have standings bac]: because they enjoy tracking their process and it gives
more stricture to the league. You feel like your in a league. He explained
to the board that he thought that last year was just a cooling off period
and that the no standings were just for that year. He expressed the feeling
of all the teams that they would like to have standings again this year.
Dred explained that they are into the 4th week of the league which was held
with standings. They have 10 weeks left before playoffs. He would like
the commission to decide what to do about the standings.
Betty thanked Fred for coming and told him we will take this request under
consideration.
Discussion - Marie commented to the hoard to give then a chance if their
are any problems, then stop the standings.
Betty suggested to let them have standings this year and see how it works
out. We need to look at all the options of having standings. Maybe we could
have 2. leagues, 1 for recreational and 1 with standings.
Ray suggested that we study this problem and make a long terns decision.
Tennis - Lorilee suggested to the board that we hire a trainee this sun-aner
to assist with and learn the program.
.Ray motions to hire a trainee, and his starting pay will be x;5.00 per hour,
