Minutes of Meeting August 9, 1983
Meeting called to order at 8:10. Attending were - Cucinotta, Vernon,
Marshall, Snell, Hornung and Corliss. Director and Assistant
Director attended - Noonan was on vacation.

Budget and WArrants for July 19

Correspondence included letter from DEA on Older American's Act and
Report on Capital Improvements from the Town of Mansfield
The Director Reported the following:
The Bi -monthly meetings with the Selectment will
be resumed in September - no Council members: attended the first meeting
Legal Referral Service - Diane Mello will coordinate -
Service is based in Fall River - 1/2 hour free consultation with a
lawyer will be allowed each senior citizen IF NECESSARY.
CETA Worker - Kyle Hunt was assigned to Seniors this
summer - he has done a good job and is a good worker
Exercise Program Grant - Jean Therrien will
coordinate - Bd of Directors of BCHC will make final arrangements for
time and location of the program to include several towns.
Assistant Director repotted 245 people and 773 miles traveled in July
New Trips being planned each month. Good registration numbers for most
trips - waiting lists for others.
Old Business included the survey of the several towns done for the
Town Manager. Mansfield can be proud of our program and out commitment
to the Senior Citizens. We can thank the town for their financial support
and hope it will continue and increase as expenses for the various programs
increase. Our biggest problem is the Center - we need new headquarters.
Our employees need our support for their duties until senior aids come
in to help in the office and visiting.
New Business Items were:
The Silver Haired Legislature Election to be in our
Center on September 21 - it was so voted.
New Volunteer program with Seniors and the School Department
being planned with School employees as coordinators
V Needs Assessment Survey statistics completed for BCHC report
(Copy of the Report should be in the Secretary's files)
Mini Bus Rules were accepted as corrected at the last meeting
New Typed version was distributed. Voted to accept Rules as typed.
