Present were Paula Kilby, Elinor Vernon, Brad Dauphinee, Tedi Hornung
(Chairman Flug had said he would be late and arrived at 8:30 p.m.)
It was decided to go over the reports without quorum present. Secretary's
report was read and approved, after correction - it was decided in June that
Paula would NOT meet with the School Committee re the Paine School because
of the short term possibility of using the school and the planned uses by
the School Committee already announced.
Warrants and Budget were discussed. $4,120.08 was returned to the town
from last year's budget (including the $3,487.20 from CHORE - unused because
of the CETA program.) Paula described the new accounting system of
account numbers. All reports accepted - motion by Brad seconded by Elinor
At 8:30 when Chairman Flug arrived we had a quorum. Attending as guest

DEA Grant proposals - we had suggested asking for grant for two way radio

had to show a priority if both requests were not funded. We voted
to list Food Containers as first priority - moved by Tedi and
seconded by Brad - so voted
NEW BUSINESS:
Self Help Election - Election of a member of their board from the town of
Mansfield. After discussion of the time and complication of the use
of the building while program is in session and after hours for our
staff, it was decided that the premises would not be available at
that time. It was moved by Elinor and 2nd by Tedi to write to the
effect "sorry but our rooms are not available at the times suggested".
Paula will write the letter. It was so voted.
Council Picnic - The picnic held at Antoscas' home for years will have to
be moved to another location and a new group of workers should be
recruited. Brad suggested the Fish and Game Club area. Plans for
the picnic (possibly to be held in September) are to be made by
President Flug and Brad Dauphinee. More on the picnic at the August
meeting.
Newsletter - published by Senior Citizens Publishing Company in Allston.
It was suggested that we ask the Friends to gather ads and the Mansfield
Press to print this letter. It would seem that the Friends could make a
considerable sum on the project. Our contract does not run out until 1982
decision from the COA and Friends should be made in March 1982
Moved by Tedi, 2nd by Brad to proceed with the project -- so voted.

for transportation if enough seniors are interested. Council members
should try to attend also.

new Senior Citizens housing project. Discussion as to whether she is
on as a citizen or as a member of the COA. Members of the Council should
be interested if not involved in the project

NEW BUSINESS (continued)
? Discussion of the Bus aid's responsibility - apparently an elderly (ill)
senior went shopping during a very hot spell. Responsibility of;.the

responsibility other than to assist with packages and general concern
if necessary
We welcomed Marie Mahana as an applicant for the Council
CHORE application - advised by B.C.H.C. o leave transportation section in the
application (if not used because of th Escort money, 1981 grant'.will
