July 17, 1978
Convened 10:20 a.m.
Present: Dolores Benson, Linda Martinelli, Edwedge McCausland, Brad
Dauphinee, Betty Mugford, and Margo Fisher.
Absent: Harry Nordberg and Dorothy Fielding.
Minutes of June 19, 1978 were read & motion by Edwedge McCausland/Linda
Martinelli to accept. Voted.
On Minibus, another application for a Grant for $7,000.00 is being sent
to the Transit Authority towards a Minibus. Dolores will talk with Town
Manager about getting bids on a new Minibus.
Budget: $30.00 was turned back to the Town for last fiscal year.
On bills: Motion by Brad Dauphinee/Edwedge McCausland for Betty -treasurer,
to sign checks to pay bills. Voted.
Dolores and members willing to go with her to present the report before
the Selectmen will go Wednesday, August 2, 1978.
Bingo balance is $107.00.
Motion by Brad Dauphinee/Edwedge McCausland to let Louis use the tables
and chairs at his Senior Citizens Cookout on August 26, 1978. Voted.
Discussion on Hot Meals Program came up that too much confusion goes on
by allowing unauthorized person going in & out of kitchen and back room.
Council on Aging agrees this must stop. Margo & Sandy to see to it,,,
that no unauthorized person allowed in kitchen & back room.
Trips: Essex, Connecticut trip to be set up. Cost is $14.00 per person.
Margo to see that a sign reading "No Soliciting" be put n door.
Also, a First Aid Kit be installed and also a fire extinguisher.
Brad Dauphinee said a screen will be made so the nurse can use it when
attending to patients, (Bring this last up at next meeting). Alsp, a
sign should be put up when nurse is on duty.
Friendly Travel money - What is being done?
The rules on trips were discussed and the Council on Aging expects that
Margo & Sandy will explain to handicapped people the Council's dicision.
No handicapped person may go on a trip unless accompanied by another
Senior Citizen who will be responsible for them.
