R Dolores Benson spoke on budget and her meeting with Finance Committee.
Finance Committee not favorable to fund our clerk, Sandy Moody, when
her term with CETA runs out in November 1, 1978. Discussion on ways
to get funds to keep Sandy Moody followed. It was proposed to approach
Jack Crane, of the DEA, to find out if there is anyway to get funding
to keep Sandy.
Minibus drivers, Frank Martinelli and Louis Antosca spoke of the
difficulty of picking up passengers who are not always ready at appointed
pick-up time, and of the complaints received by the drivers who, be-
cause of the failure to get the mini -bus started, many times are
late arriving to pick them up. Also discussed was the difficulty of
turning the mini -bus around at Cedar Court. Dolores advised Margo
to write a letter to Joanne Colella of the Housing Authority to tell
the tenants at Cedar Court to park their cars properly so that
there will be room to turn the mini -bus around. Council agreed that
bus drivers should not have to take any abuse from passengers.
On the Marlboro Seniors to present their show, it was decided to
postpone the show because Margo Fisher said they asked for $100.00
to put on the show and also money to pay their travel expenses of
about $90.00.-, Their expense combined with other expenses such as
janitor, and tickets, etc, is more than we can afford at the present
time. Motion: by Linda Martinelli/Harry Nordberg to postpone it.
Voted.
