All TT&nbers were present except Liegh Aim Foster.
The meeting was called to order at 8:10 p.m. by President T,arshall.
Bob thanked those members who returned their evaluation forms of the
Director ..nd registered disappointment with those who did not return
theirs.
After correcting the Secretary's minutes it was moved and voted to
accept then. The correction was under point 3 of the Director's
report. The .arts Lottery: Gale has received a $500. grant toward
a program to be started in September called "Growing Up in America".
The other correction had to do with the title of Judy Brown's program
of Friendship Circles which is not the "Growing Up in America" program.
It was moved and voted to accept the treasurer's report and Budget
Status report. The budget status report will be further discussed
under new business.
The correspondence is rather full this month with particular attention
paid to a notice from the Town 'dana.ger inviting us to an Open House
on June lo' from 1 — 3 at Suite 15 — 792 South 1'Ta-in St. for Town Cable

elderly. A thank—you note from the family of Harry Nordberg was shared.

Meeting. i There was a demonstration of GATRA equipment for transporting
handicapped persons. They received a hand-out of various transportation
available to the handicapped which will be a good"Source for the future.
A gift of $100. was received fro -,.q Mrs. Vickery because of her apprec-
iation for the meals program from which her :pother has benefited. This
money will be put in the gift account because the meals program is a
funded one.

Assistant Directors Report:
The bus traveled 796 miles with 326 people in May. The increase in
number of people is due to the pot -luck supper held May 23rd to
commemorate Senior Citizens Month. It was very well attended and
appreciated. Everyone left anticipating a similar event next year.
Perhaps next year a clambake should be considered. Vicki suggested
that such events should be taped for cablevision.
Old Business:
1. Gale has made final application for 16(B)2 vechicles and re-
ceived a letter from Russell Thatcher to say that the Zobile AsS.ist-
ance Program Advisory Committee met to review all applications for
funding. "The recommendation for your request was to suggest that
you seek assistance through GATRA (Greater Attleboro Taunton Regional
Transit Authority). This is because under MAP 1001 of the grant would
be state funded whereas a member community you are eligible for 80%
federal capital assistance. "Gle would also suggest that you inquire
about possible assistance availabeZ through GATRA. This funding may
enable you to better meet requirements to provide equal access to
disabled individuals regardless of age." Russell Thatcher is the
program director of 16(B)2. The letter came from the Executive Office
of Transportation and Construction, 10 Park Plaza, Rm. 3510, Boston,
Ilas s .

area. This budget has been maintained for three years and needs
revision. Special programs are separate from the overall operating

32 Friends Meeting - Report:

mini -bus in good repair.

to do yard tiwork for Senior Citizens.

Employment. She was tr.nsferred from a Self-employed person under
contract with the town and is now a Town Employee which involves qualify-
ing for certain benefits. She has our support in this although she
has not herd from the Torn Treasurer regarding this issue yet.
