The meeting was called to order at 8:08 PM by President Robert Marshall.
Excused were Vicki Prasad and Ruth Noonan.

The Treasurer's Report and Budget Status were accepted.
Correspondence:
1. Thirteen announcements of Seminars and Workshops were received and
reviewed.
2. A letter from the Senior Citizens Publishers, Inc. explained why our
contract with them cannot be cancelled before next June 1st, 1986, was
discussed.
3. A thank -you letter from the Rev. Dr. Charles Hume, representing the
Orthodox Congregational Church, was shared.
Director's Report:
1. A site assessment was conducted on September 3rd by Fall River Nutrition
Program to check on our facilities and ask questions about our meal program.
There is a question regarding the condition of the fire extinguishers. The
required envelope donation system meets a lot of resistance here and will be
reviewed.

working out quite well.

to assist Director's attend Workshops.
4. The Fall program has begun and is going well.
5. The bus drivers will receive a Certificate after completion of training
September 17th. The Foxboro Company sponsors a CPR course at a nominal fee to

Assistant Director's Report:
The new bus is operating very well. It carried 346 passengers 824 miles,
which is an increase over July's statistics.
Old Business:
A two-way radio has been installed on the bus. The dispatch connection is
not operational yet. Four extra tires are stored here. Linda Adams is planning
to fill out forms for the handicapped as she visits with them. The donation system
is working well. At the official opening, a good number of townspeople came,
including several Selectmen.
Leigh Ann reported that a building she had hoped would make a good site to
move the Center to, did not, in fact, have appropriate facilities. Another possible
site required too many renovations. The Mansfield Co -Op Bank is interested in
moving. That building would be an excellent site.
New Business:
The lunch service has been changed. Morin's lost the bid. A Fall River provider
will begin October 1st.
The Newsletter contract prohibits cancellation before next August. Postage
has gone up because it contains advertisements which are not permitted at Non-
Profit mailing rates. Money from the formula grant may perhaps be applied to this
expense. 750 copies are mailed and 176 hand -delivered monthly. Gale will seek
the advice of a lawyer before she revises the grant request. There was some concern
as to whether the conpany is in fact providing the number of Newsletters agreed to
in the contract. If they are not, we may have grounds for breaking the contract.
BCHC will give up -front money for renovations of Senior Centers up to $8-9,000.
if the CDA has a 3 -year contingency agreement on a suitable site.
The Escort Service needs new drivers by November lst. The criteria are that
the persons need to be dependable and flexible as the hours are erratic. They use
their own car and receive $160/imnth stipend, plus 20G/mile for the main driver.
The back-up driver receives $50/month, and 20/mile. After much discussion regarding
the stipend and ways of attracting good drivers, the Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 PM.
Next meeting October 8, 1985.
Respectfully submitted,
Patricia J. Hume
