Feb. 14th. Gale requested consideration to use some of the
trust funds for the Valentine's Dance due to the cost
involved. Seniors would pay for their own tickets of $10
which would only include the luncheon.. After much
discussion, the board voted to pay :for the entertainment
part of the program. Howard Rice will bring music for
linedancing. Tricia Hume moved to pay for 'the ,Special Events
Program (Valentine Dance) on Feb. 14th. The motion was
seconded by Joy Lee, and passed unanimously.
A grant has been received for $2,790 from the Executive
Office of Elder Affairs. One person has been interviewed.

this position as she is a very positive and enthusiastic
person. Joy Lee suggested the same. Gale will approach her
at the right time.

There is still no information on the soundproofing for the
multi-purpose room. Sonia will call Steve I`lacCaffree and
also Nancy Breef-Pilz in regard to the remaining Building
Funds.
Nancy Breef-Pilz requested from the COA Board the need for a
Library Box to be installed on the front of the building for
the posting of notices of events and meetings in the
Library/COA. Cost to split would be $9,000. In lieu of the
financial situation of the town, the board was not
interested in spending these types of funds. The board also
felt that it was advertising to others when no one is in the
building. The board voted not to fund partial payment of
this project. Sonia will call Nancy to let her know of the
boards decision.
Two Van Drivers have been hired; Bob Clinton and Sandra
Healey. Both have CDL license. Both are very good at their
job. Some small problems with one client.
Lois Thomas recieved a call from Edith Cobb at Cedar Court
regarding her position for wanting to be picked -up at the
second driveway. Van drivers were instructed to make pick-
ups and drop-offs at first driveway only as stated in the
Van regulations from 1986. After much discussion and
referring back to the same situation from 1986 the Board
voted to send a letter to Edith Cobb regarding her request.
Copies of Van regulations will be sent to her also. The
Board felt that it would be a Liability to the Town if any
accidents occured, this position was discussed in length
back in 1986, Client would need assistance from an aid if
clients are unable to get to the Van alone, the driver is
not responsible. The service is curb -curb only as stated it
the van regulations.
Muriel Carter has accepted postion of Bd. member of BESI.
Letter has been sent to BESI to notify them. Muriel will
attend next meeting.
NEW BUSINESS
A letter from BESI has been received to inform all COA's of
the closed intake for all level 4's for homemaker and home
health services. This will cause a qreat harship for
Council's that deal with clients in the community. No other
services for homemakers are avaiable unless they are
volunteers. Gale will keep the board up -dated on this
situation.
Jim Wheeler stopped into see Gale to let her know that more
funds will be forthcoming in the amount of $10,998.53 to be
added to the Trust Account.
Meeting adjourned at 9:40 pm.
