MANSFIELD COA BOARD MEETING',
MINUTES: SEPTEMBER '14, 1993
PRESENT: J.Eppes, J.Folan,`S.Walgreen, B.Wood;G.Farrukia,

Meeting called to order at '7:40.
Motion to approve MAY Board meeting minutes by(B.Wood;
second,`J.Folan. So voted.l
Motion to approve Budget Status, Warrants and Treasurer's
Report: $342 in the Gift Account by J.Folan, second $.Wood.
So voted.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Board informed of new personnel:
Escort driver, Fran Coggshell; Bus Aide, Kevin Lantz;J
Outreach, Licensed Social Worker, Janet McCauley
Office partitions for social worker donated by Friends DIC
Mansfield town employees participating in crisis
intervention program run by HMA Behavioral Health Inc. Gale
and Ada 'reported on two day, conference on management styles
and decisionmaking.
Gale to participate in MCOA Annual Conference: 10/14 & 10/15
and in WARA program in Oct.'discussing United Way's INFO LINE
Increasing numbers of non elder, handicapped/disabled
clients ;using van transportation, ,as well as counseling
sessions.
Parking ;lot lines paineted and flowers planted at facility.
ASST. DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Van usage: 1736 miles in July; 1139 in August
534 signed in in July and 546 in August
Upcoming trips include: Washington,D.C.;,Georgetown,MA;
Scituate,MA; Newport,R.I.
OLD BUSINESS
Fran Braga, Housing Auth.�director informed Gale on clients
at Bicentennial Ct. under managed care program of BES.
Joint meeting with Housing Auth.lBoard members suggested in
order to increase understanding of services offered and
better tend to needs of Mansfield Seniors.
Suggested date;10/19 at 7:30PM.
Bulb planting by Friends DIC and Friends of Library to take
place at date yet to be determined by groups.
Repainting of facility sign to be discussed by, Gale with
Acting Librarian, J.'Campbell.

Discussion of letter to E.Cobb regarding GATRA van
regulations and pickup at Cedar Ct.
NEW BUSINESS
Resignation of Board member: J.Cucinotta
Letter of appreciation to be sent by Secretary
J.Folan volunteered to fill out VP term.
EDEA grant awarded to fund 10 hours outreach worker Rose
Curreri.
Informational meetings between COA staff members and Board
will resume in Nov.'
J,Eppes'strongly urged Board members to participate in
Center activities. Upcoming activities include:
Jaycees -Cookout and Harvest Ball.`
Semi-annual joint meeting with Library Trustees on 10/6
at 9AM in Library.
Issue for discussion at said meeting: increased cases of
vandalism at 'facility as well as increased number of times
custodian called back to facility for fire and security
alarm checks.`
COA Board will meet with new School Superintendent,
Nicoletti and D.Lowndes, Curriculum Coordinator in Oct. for
discussion of volunteer program and intergenerational
programming.
