MINUTES: NOVEMBER 9, 1993
PRESENT: M.Butler, J.Eppes, J.Folan, F.Nilson, S.Walgreen,
B.Wood; G.Farrugia, A.Milliken
Meeting called to order at 7:35.
Motion to approve October Board meeting minutes by F.Nilson;
second, M.Butler. So voted. `
Motion to approve Budget Status, Warrants and Treasurer's
Report; $223.54 in the Gift Account by J.Folan, second
F.Nilson. So voted.
M.Vaisonoris, COA volunteer, introduced to Board members
DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Meeting with Superintendent Nicoletti and D.Lowndes
rescheduled for January 1994.
COA Staff Christmas dinner, Dec.8
Carol Lucas to receive Independent Spirit Award presented by
Channel 56.
Mansfield clergy to meet with Gale on Nov.16.- exchange of
information on town needs, services available.
Janet McCauley, (social worker) has adjusted to Town and
clients extremely well. Very valuable addition to staff.
ASST. DIRECTOR'S REPORT
Van usage: 1011 miles in October, 792 signed'in.
Christmas Party on Dec.16 - Tickets $12.50
Bermuda trip in May - 8 sign ups already
Friends 'DIC Harvest Fair - very successful event
Flu clinics - approximately 400 person vaccinated
Seniors assisted in the sorting of foodstuffs donated by
Mansfield school children for West End Benevolent Society
Thanksgiving baskets.
OLD BUSINESS
COA-Housing Auth. joint meeting attended by G.Farrugia, A.
Milliken, M.Butler, J.Eppes Informative discussion.
NEW BUSINESS
Preliminary discussion of '94-'95 Budget
Motion to seek 5% increase in Special Services, Office
Supplies and Custodian Supplies line items by M.Butler,
second F.Nilson
Unanimously approved
F.Nilson reported on BES Bylaw Committee activities.
Board members advised that Mansfield Charter Revision
petition is being circulated. 41
