Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM.
Presentation by Curriculum Specialist, D.Lowndes on
initiative between Motorola/Codex and Mansfield Public
Schools. Comments by Superintendent Nicoletti.
Motion to approve December Board meeting minutes.
Unanimously approved.
Motion to approve Budget Status, Warrants and Treasurer's
Report: $200.55 in the Gift Account. So voted.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Parking survey conducted for the month of
December. Another to be conducted in the spring. Gale will
investigate options available for Seniors.
Outreach worker, Janet McCauley, investigating possibility
of performing Masters degree field placement work at
Mansfield COA. Board approved motion that Field Placement
Preceptor be paid jointly by Mansfield COA and West Side
Benevolent - fee not to exceed $50/hour.
Linda and John Adams completed insulating local Senior
citizen's home. Senior and Board extremely grateful to the
Adams'. Letter of appreciation to be written..
Increased cooperative efforts betwen Sturdy Memorial
Hospital, Mansfield COA and Mansfield Police and Fire
Departments to be undertaken.
Storm cancellation procedures discussed by Board. Concern
for welfare and safety of Seniors on staff during inclement
weather expressed. Agreed: Better to be safe than sorry!
Gale to participate in Cable Access program on Senior
issues.
ASST. DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Van usage: 858 miles in December,
375 transported, 593 signed in.
OLD BUSINESS: Budget - discussion of change in COA budget;
addition of custodian.
GATRA vehicle will be available in February.
NEW BUSINESS: Locks for certain kitchen cabinets in order to
ensure safety and protection of property.
