MINUTES cSeptember 13, 1994
PRESENT: M.Butler.,,.J;Epees; J'. Fclan, M.Vaisnoris,

Meeting called to order at 7:30 PM.
Motion to approve May 10 Board meeting minutes. Unanimously
approved.
Motion to approve Budget Status, Warrants and Treasurer's
Report. So voted. Gift Account report to be updated at next
meeting.
Sue Hamilton representing the Mansfield Intergenerational
Network (now disbanded) presented the COA and FDIC a $301.99
gift. Deep thanks were expressed to Sue and the Network.
Board voted to use these funds for future Intergenerational
programming.
DIRECTOR'S REPORT: Report on Staff deaths (Walter Poulin,
Barbara Choquette), illnesses (Arthur Remillard) and
replacements (Jerry Ahern).
Janet McCauley is servicing, on average 9-10 new families
per month.
Union contracts are still being negotiated.
Numerous activities are resuming in the fall: Exercise and
linedancing; Painting classes

New York Life presentation "Protecting Your Assets"- 9/27
In October - Flu Clinic, Masquerade Ball and
Intergenerational Programs

Van usage: 1,088 miles in July; 1,091 miles in Aug.
399 transported in July; 424 in Aug.
546 signed in at Center in July; 424 in Aug.
Trips: Foxwood Casino 9/26
Delaney House 12/2
Mall trips - first Monday every month
OLD BUSINESS: Gale, Scott Leite & Janet McCauley finalized
disposition of Mental Health Fund ($5,400) in agreement with
Board of Health.
NEW BUSINESS: EOEA grant awarded COA ($5252) to be used to
f pay for Senior Outreach Worker, Rose Curreri
Talks with Hillside Adult Day Care Center are continuing on
feasability of establishing a sattelite center in Mansfield.
Former Sterling Manufacturing was inspected as possible site
Meeting of B.Williams, D.Royale, J.L.Eppes and Gale to
discuss social services needs of Mansfield. Separate budget
page discussed for possible Social Services Dept.
J.L. and Gale to investigate further and make
recommendations of possible needed changes.
M.Vaisanoris - COA representative to DLLT and will be member
of Communications subcommittee.
