OLD BUSINESS: Library/COA joint Boards met at 7:45 p.m. to resume discussion on Multi -Purpose Room regarding solution for Piano teachers to continue using M -Purpose Room for recitals. COA Board member Gretchen Elliott reiterated her suggestion of Grandfathering in those teachers who were using room previously even though they are for profit business. Library trustees met at their last meeting and discussed this option; however They were in agreement and suggested that the Piano recital teachers go through M.M.A.S. or some other non-profit organization allowing them to be their sponsor as a non-profit status, thereby having control over their program so that they would continue to be free and open to the public. Grandfathering in those already using room may open the door for other for profit groups to dispute that they should have been grandfathered in also. Discussion of options by all board members continued. Final clarification of issue discussed was: "that we (both boards) need to stick to guidelines and policies already written up in the rules and regulations of the multipurpose Room Policy already in place; to prevent any future problems down the road." No vote is needed due to the already existing policy that is already in place. All but one member was in agreement - Leslie will contact those people involved by phone and will be followed up by a letter of decision of Boards. 4 NEW BUSINESS: Budget Review Meeting with Selectmen was to be held on Jan. 17th at 9:30 p.m. Rescheduled for Weds.
