NEW BUSINESS
ADA Regulations — Barbara Chandler has been passing information along to the COAs
with regard to new regulations the centers are going to need to meet in the near future for
mentally retarded clients. Clients cannot be denied services because of any disability.
The centers are going to need to make every possible accommodation for clients with
disabilities. There was some discussion that a meeting in the near future including
Barbara, the Town Manager, Finance Committee and Selectmen to discuss future funding
necessary to meet these new regulations should take place.
GATRA Meeting — Gale met with Frank Gay of GATRA and John D'Agostino, the
Town Manager, to discuss the future needs of bus service provided by the COA. There
were different options presented such as another provider providing the services along
with the possibility of a second van on a part time basis could be put into use. Possible
grant money could help with the addition of the second van. Gale will be meeting again
with GATRA and the town manager and will keep us apprised of the on going
discussions.
