Chairwoman Royle informed the Commission that Town Manager Maurer had advised her that he has no objections to such helicopter landings but that it is up to the Conservation Commission to make the final decision. The Commissioners present agreed to send a letter to the Army Corps of Engineers informing them that the Commission has no objection to the landing of helicopters on the Sweet Conservation Land but cautioning them that there are high tension lines in a portion of the field. Chairwoman Royle and Com. Johnson reported that they, together with Associate Commissioner Rys inspected the Little League site and were dismayed to find a large pile of brush and fill on the road just before the fields. It was the consensus of opinion of those commissioners present that a letter should be sent to the Little League requesting that this unsightly pile of brush and fill be removed before any further work takes place. *Com. Memo from Planning Director Folkman forwarding a copy of the SPREDD Water Supply Protection Study. Chairwoman Royle reported that Paul Folkman had advised her to call Gary Hollands at IEP to inquire about the feasibility of preparing wetlands mapping of the Town since such wetlands mapping was not included in the contract with Whitman & Howard. Mr. Hollands stated that the price of such a study would depend upon the availability of a Town base map, preferably 1" = 100', and the size of the town. Com. Bonvie stressed that, particularly in view of the newly proposed wetlands regulations, wetlands mapping of the Town is a "must" in order for the Commission to adequately fulfill its responsibilities.
