been postponed until Monday, March 17, because of the bad`

Leon Grant's'Pond Development: A Wetland Protection Act Hearing
was held at 8:00 PM for Mr. Grant's proposed pond, ;File No.
>SE211-52. A'separate summary is on file; tapes of the hearing
are also on file at the Town Clerk's office.i
Willowdal.e Golf Course: Robert Morrison, President of Willowdale
Golf Course, presented his plan for redirecting a brook on
the golf course property.'; Anthony Stanzion.e Town Engineer,
voiced his approval of Mr. Morrison's plan and outlined the
Town's follow-up plan to enlarge the culvert under Willow
Street. The relocated brook would have the same grade and
would run at the same velocity as the present one. Com. Boyden
observed that even if Mr.` Morrison's plans were based on :the
expected effect of the new Route 140 on the ,golf course property,
they could not be considered completely accurate since itis
impossible to gauge the full effect of the Route 140 relocation.
Com. Boyden went on to suggest that when the State representatives
come for the continuance of their hearing on March 24, they
should be approached about the State's funding this Town project
because the new culvert has been necessitated by the relocation
of Route 140. For this reason, it was suggested that Anthony
Stanzione be present at the hearing on March 24.

Com. Rys made a motion that this activity does not warrant a
Wetland Protection Act Hearing.Com. Boyden second with the
stipulation that Mr. Morrison submit an as -built plan to the Town.
Upon receipt of this plan, the Town Engineer would make an on- '
site inspection to 'verify the work done. All in favor. A
letter confirming this decision was sent to Mr. Morrison.'
1.408 'Plantingfield'Road: 'Com. Boyden moved that asletter be
sent to the 'Mansfield Board of Health' indicating that the
Commission would allow the initial percolation of this lot
provided Mr. Bonvie meets the conditions that are spelled
out, i.e., no motorized equipment is to be used below 124
elevation and that, at the discretion of the Town Engineer,
a repercolation will occur during the wet season as per Board
of Health restrictions and recommendations. 'Com. Sheehan'
second, all in favor.
Marydee Flynn: Mrs. Flynn, Chairwoman of the Great Woods Study
Committee, outlined the four parcels amounting to 'about 35 acres
of land which are being proposed for purchase by the Great Woods
Study Committee. The Commissioners were pleased to note that
these purchases would to some extent connect' various parcels
of Conservation land. There was also some discussion about
the footbridge over Route 495. Com. Boyden suggested that since
Mr. Chareth of the Massachusetts Department of Public Works
sounded rather vague about this matter when he was questioned
about it at the March 10, 1980 hearing about' Route 140, it
might be a good idea for 'Chairwoman Flynn to send a letter to
Mr. Chareth refreshing his recollection of the various
communications they have had concerning this project.
Sweet >Conservation ''Land: Com. Rys made a motion that the
Commission send a letter to the Town Manager' requesting that the
Department of Public Works place boulders of sufficient size tol
prevent automobile traffic from 'entering the Sweet Conservation
Land, ;said boulders to be placed at a;point approximately 500
feet from Otis Street. Com. Rys would be willing to designate
the area at the Department's convenience. This action would help
prevent vandalism and continued automobile traffic on the
Conservation area and abutting land. Com. Sweet second, all in
favor.
