LOCATION OF PROJECT: Within the layout of Mill Street PURPOSE OF PROJECT: The installation of a 12 -inch water main along Mill Street, beginning at the intersection of East Street and running along Mill Street to the Norton town line. Arthur Stockus stated that since Stephen Cartwright had explained the project in detail at the first session of the Wetlands Protection Act Hearing, he would address the changes made in the plans due to the questions raised by the Conservation Commission. Rather than using the bridge, the strength of which had been questioned, the pipe will be run through the wetlands which were to be disturbed in any event. The pipe will be encased in polystyrene. In order to comply with the Army Corps of Engineers regulations regarding this project, the flow of this stream must not be interrupted, although the method of accomplishing this will be left to the discretion of the contractor. Since the pipe is to be installed underground, freezing should not be such a problem and the bridge will be free to be repaired in the future. Joseph Gonsalves, 137 Mill Street, expressed his preference for this plan over that proposed on July 26, 1982. The hearing was closed at 8:32 PM.
