February 9 Notice from the Board of Selectmen regarding vending trucks selling on Town property can do so only with formal permission of the Town. BMX Parent's Association A revised plan was submitted to the Commission showing the proposed changes to the BMX Track. The original plan submitted was rejected by the Commission due to extensive changes proposed for the track which is on Conservation land. With the new plan, the pro- posed track will stay within the confines of the existing track, adding to a greater degree. The existing starting area is located very close to Maple Street. The revised plan shows the starting area will be located uphill away from Maple Street, ensuring the safety of the riders. No bridge will be constructed, and the tires will be removed. Approximately 50 trees will be cut down in the location of the starting area. No trees will be taken down from the center area. Tree stumps will be removed by a bulldozer and used with dirt for the berms. They will be using a material similar to an in -field mix for the track. The starting area will be paved. Presently, they use gravel which erodes very quickly. If any fencing is done, trees to be cut down will be used. The Recreation Commission will be responsible if there is any destruction of this Conservation land. A letter will be sent to the BMX Association capping off the above discussion with stipulations on keeping the area natural and a minimum of tree cutting. Present at this discussion wee Don Foster; Bob O'Brien, Track Technician; Pat Bureau, BMX Accountant; and Paul Split, Recreation Director.
