ATTENDANCE: Linda Lipson; Vivian Sweet, Jim
Nancy Breef-Pilz, Leslie Pasch
ABSENT: Jeff Ptaschnik
Whalen.
The January meeting of the Trustees of the Mansfield
Public Library was held in the Trustees' Room of the library
on January 7. Jim called the meeting to order at 8:05 AM.
He read the minutes and they were approved.
Linda distributed the treasurer's report showing a
balance of $69.815.61. It was also approved.
Leslie highlighted the Librarian's Report: 1) Circulation
is up 20%. 2) Talks between ABLE and SEAL indicate a
cooperative venture. They would share a site and
administration, but would not merge the networks.
The three bids for the CD-ROM tower were reviewed. After
a discussion, Linda made a motion to give Jim the authority to
choose the contractor after interviewing the top two bidders
via telephone. Vivian seconded the motion and the vote was
unanimous.
Leslie presented information on purchasing a microfilm
cabinet and an overhead projector. Vivian made a motion to
give Leslie authority to purchase both pieces with MEG money.
Linda seconded the motion and the vote was unanimous.
There has been Interest in a pass for the Easton
Children's Museum. The price is $200. Since the Friends of
the Library have money in reserve for "children's programs",
perhaps they will fund it.
The board looked at the mural from the Baybank being
stored in the library's hallway. It was decided to check with
Colin Cauldwell for a price and ideas for mounting it.
The board was reminded of the meeting with the FinComm.
The Library had switched dates with the COA. The new date is
January 21, at 11:00 AM.
The town suoervisor's union contract has been settled.
Leslie will distribute copies to all trustees after she
receives one.
The Trustees' meeting was adjourned at 10:06 AM. The
next meeting will be Saturday, February 4, 1995 at 8 AM.
Respectfully submitted,
Nancy Breef-Pilz
