The September meeting of the Trustees of the Mansfield

Newly appointed trustee, Chris Cormier Hayes, was welcomed.
There were no minutes due to Jeff's absence.
Linda distributed the treasurer's report showing a
balance of $18,931.75. The CD has matured and it was
unanimously voted to reinvest for three months. (Vivian made
the motion; seconded by Linda.) After investigating the
topic, Leslie has found no restrictions for the Library
Trustees' investment guidelines.
Leslie highlighted the Librarian's Reports for June. July
and August: 1) Circulation is up approximately 200 on a
monthly basis, and approximately 10% for the year. 2) Surveys
concerning large g print materials were distributed and the
results show ideas for improving the collection.
Monthly reports on the Youth Room were reviewed,
including the 1995 Summer Reading Program. Linda suggested
donating books to the library in honor of the individuals who
have donated their time for programs this summer.
An update on the CD-ROM tower was given by Leslie. There
have been some problems, perhaps in the software. Andrews
Computers have been very supportive.
Internet should be available for staff use in a few
weeks; public use by December.
There are three months of missing Trustee minutes: May,
June and November 1994.
There was discussion once again of purchasing a telephone
answering machine. Leslie was asked to check into prices and
report in October.
Linda asked that one check be given in payment to
performers hired by the library. Recently many have asked for
a separate check for travel expenses. All fees should be
combined.
Leslie presented her research into purchasing a new
microfilm reader/printer. Although the board agreed a new one
!S needed, Leslie will check the availability and prices in
camera stores. 95OCi 12 R'M ,:32
