The Mansfield Music and Arts Society deeply regret the recent incidents that

considered our use of this room a privilege, and have done our best to leave the

We not only use the Community Room for our rehearsals, but we rely on it for

The following options would allow access to the Meeting Room at the Mansfield Public
Library to music teachers, their students, parents and attendees and preserve the
ideal of "non-profit" useage delineated in the Trustees' Guidlines:
1. Change wording in "Guidelines" (#5) to "for non-profit activity" vs. "non-profit
group."
2. Have the Trustees of the Library or the Friends of the Library sponsor music
recitals (they are free and open to the public and meet the definition of
"... programs of an educational. informational or cultural nature."
3. Allow the recitals to be held under the sponsorship of the Mansfield Music and
Arts Society, again free and open to the public.
4. Allow the parents of the students to reserve the room for their use.
5. Revert back to the policy of past years when music recitals were held in the
meeting room.
