correlating the data from each trustee's evaluation. Leslie read the evaluation and signed it.

changes.
OLD BUSINESS
The 5 -Year Plan subcommittee presented a draft of the Goals and Objectives to be
included in the 5 -Year Plan. After some discussion, these were approved with a few changes.
The subcommittee anticipates meeting in June and July, and requested a Trustee Board meeting in
August to finalize the plan. Deadline for the plan is November 7, 1996.
Leslie is still waiting for a few bids to come through for her new microcomputer. She will
present the trustees with these bids at the next meeting.
Leslie presented the revised job descriptions for the Library Director, the Assistant
Director/Children's Librarian and the Reference Librarian/Reader's Advisor. These were
approved (motion by Leonard, seconded by Vivian) as written.
Linda reported on the Informational Seminar that she attended on Thursday, May 23,
1996. This seminar was designed for members of town boards and committees to learn more
about their roles and responsibilities as elected or appointed officials.
MINUTES FROM THE JOINT MEETING OF THE TRUSTEES OF THE LIBRARY AND
THE TRUSTEES OF THE COUNCIL ON AGING
ATTENDANCE FROM THE COA: Frank Nilson, Sonia Walgreen, Donna Harrington, Gretchen
Elliot, and Gail Farrugia
ABSENT: Jack Folan
Leslie presented the roof problems. Georgia Pacific has been in and we are awaiting their
decision concerning their defective roof shingles. Leslie has obtained two bids to fix the roof. Of
utmost importance is the repair of the skylight in the Children's Room. The Boards authorized
Leslie and Gail to send a letter to the MBC (Mansfield Building Committee) restating the history
of the roof problems. They also authorized Leslie to obtain three bids to repair the skylight.
Leslie informed the Boards that there is 15,210 square feet of land for sale between the
library and the comer gas station. The current asking price is $99,900.00 As one of the greatest
areas of complaint concerning the library appears to be the lack of parking space, Leslie thought it
wise to inform both Boards. After some discussion it was agreed that Leslie and Gail will send
out two letters: one to the Park and Recreation Board, Laura Lee Fish, Bill Williams, and the
Selectmen inquiring as to the status of the land between the library and Memorial Park; and the
other letter to Bill Williams inquiring about the process to purchase land -- specifically, the land
between the library and the corner gas station.
The meeting adjourned at 11:17 AM.
Respectfully submitted,
thtis Cormier Hayes
