ATTENDANCE: Nancy Breef-Pitz, Joseph Flynn, Chris Cormier Hayes, Vivian
Sweet, Leslie Pasch
ABSENT: Leonard Epstein
The July meeting of the Trustees of the Mansfield Public Library was held on
Monday, July 13, 1998 in the Certuse Room of the library. Nancy called the meeting to
order at 4:10 PM.
Secretary's (tort. There was no Secretary's report presented.
Treasurer's Report. Chris presented the Treasurer's report.
Librarian's Report. Leslie presented the librarian's report. 'Circulation for June
was up 15.6% at 18,206.
OLD BUSINESS
Trust Fund/CD's. Michael Bellody, a representative of Prudential Securities Inc.
visited the Board and discussed the various investment options that he had previously
prepared. Pending full Board approval, the trustees agreed to consider a modified
moderate portfolio. lInvestment decision to be finalized at September Board meeting.
Goals for FY `99. Leslie and the Board discussed her goals and objectives for the
upcoming fiscal year. Some changes were suggested and will be implemented into her
goals. Leslie will furnish the Board with her finalized goals prior to next month's meeting.
Signs, Leslie updated the Board on various options for the new sign in front of the
library. She is waiting for information from a vendor. Discussion to be continued at next
Board meeting.
Parking on Hope Street Update. Nancy reported on the meeting that she attended
concerning the Hope Street parking lot. The town manager informed those at the meeting
that the parking lot issue is on hold and will be revisited in two years. Work on the
softball fields behind the library will continue.

NEW BUSINESS
Extra Book Dwp. Leslie presented five bids for the book drop that is needed at
the library. The Board approved the lowest bid for the extra large capacity book drop, the
Kingsley Model, for $2780.00.
Gifts- Leslie presented the June gifts.
The meeting adjourned at 7:45 P.M.
The next Trustee meeting is set for Saturday, September 12 at 8:00 A.M.
