Dear Mr. Tierney: File: SE211-35
The Mansfield Conservation Commission recommends that' the
State gives serious consideration to ;the construction of a
box-type culvert or similar device to effect transfer of
animal life from one side of the highway to the other.
Interstate Route 495 divides a natural habitat area and
does not allow for such animal movement. The culvert
should be located in the area commonly known; as Cobbler's
Corner and Taylor's Hill, as references in Town of Mansfield
maps and is currently owned by the Willis Family, the Fisher
Estate and the Town of Mansfield.
-
We would be happy to meet with representatives from your
Department concerning this matter. This is no way cancels
the pedestrian overpass requirement, i
Very truly yours,

MEMORANDUM
TO:'Capital Improvement Program Committee
FROM: ChadMaurer, .ping Director
RE: Appropriations and Reimbursements for Conservation Land Acquisitions
My memorandum of October 31, 1977 stated that the $28,735 reimbursed for
the Great Woods Land Acquisition was deposited in the Land Acquisition
Fund. This statement was incorrect as the monies had been deposited in
the General Fund.
As of October 31, 1977 the Land Acquisition Fund showed a balance of
$48,312.50. A total of $6,312.50 is available for conservation acquisition
and $42,000 is the appropriation for land acquisition and the dam reconstruction
that was done under the Community Development Program. The monies spent on
ve come from those received from H.U.D. However, the
this project to date ha
Town had appropriated the full; amount.

Dear Mrs. Flynn,,
I have completed the title search on the parcel of
land-ownedlby Raymond F. Moreau and Esther F. Moreau which
your committee is in the process of purchasing. ,I find that
the said Moreaus have a'clear +and marketable title to the
said parcel.
Please call this office to arrange the date and time of
this conveyance.
I realize from our conversation today that the date for
the conveyance will be several weeks from today. I will need
at least two days notice so that I can co-ordinate my schedule
and draft the deed.
Very truly your ,
