Committee on Ocotber 4, 1990 in eetiiitom 11 Town of Easton,
Town Offices, 136 Elm Street, North Easton, MA. Members in
attendance:
Wayne P. Southworth, Easton Water Superintendent
William D. Hardin, Easton Selectmen
Joan Sozio, Foxborough
Edward J. Tartufo, Mansfield Board of Health
Suzanne Erikson, Norton
Kathy Romero, Norton
J. R. Chenevert, Norton
John E. Grant, Easton Conservation Commission
Tim Higgins, Foxoborough

I. Call to Order
Mr. Southworth called the meeting to order at 1:05 P.M.
II. Approval of Minutes
A motion was made by Mr. Hardin and seconded by Mrs. Sozio
to approve the minutes of September 6, 1990. It was so VOTED.
III. ACEC Update
Mr. Grant noted the final proposal is ready; verbally
reviewed the boundaries and the preliminary maps of open spaces,
historic/archaeological, rare/endangered species, flood plain and
municipal well locations. Short discussion ensued with regards
to known historical sites.
Mr. Southworth commended Mr. Grant on an excellent job.
IV. Fall Educational Seminar, October 30, 1990 in Mansfield:
"Mitigation of Aquifer Impacts by Local Boards"
Mr. Higgins stated that he has been working on this and
sent out a memorandum to every town hall. There is a possibility
that the meeting will be taped and could be used for cable and
placed in the file.
V. Old Business
1. It was noted that Bruce Sorrie of the National Heritage
program could not make this meeting - will try and schedule him
for the next meeting.
2. Joan Sozio noted the update of the River Protection Act
dated 09-24-90 and the letter from Representative Vernon in
support of HB 5986.
3. Mr. Southworth noted he spoke before the Metcalf and
Eddy group in Rhode Island re amendments to the Safe Drinking
Act.
VI. New Business
1. Correspondence: Land Trust Conference Notice; Dept. of
Fisheries & Wildlife re atlas; Campaign for Mass Future re CLT
petition; Communication from the Friends of Borderland re October
14, 1990 (question - who can atttend7 contact Wayne Southworth
by end of next week).
2. Land Trust Coalition - Suzanne Erickson stated the
Coalition had a meeting last night with three members of the
Trustees of Reservations.
3. Mr. Southworth stated he has a high school intern that
works in his office. If anyone had, a particular project, it
could be assigned to him.
4. Discussed members attendance. A motion was made by Mr.
Hardin and seconded by Mrs. Sozio to send Linda Sohn a letter
regarding attendance and future membership. It was so VOTED.
