Greg Meister addressed the committee with an update of the upcoming
conference to be held in late March or April.
It will be an informal Fair on Lake Management, with displays and
films by interested companies and organizations. Including aspects of
effect of lawn care and detergents on Lake Management.
Plans are for it to be held at the Sharon Community Center which would
be free and seats 200+. Kathy Romero suggested Ken Wagner as one
speaker.Walter Newman, Chairman of the Lake Management Committee also
would.like to see it focused on lawn care, fertilizer, and detergents,
making it educating to the public. Among groups to invite would be
the County.Extension Service and Allied Biological Control.
The issue of refreshments was brought up and decided that coffee and
perhaps doughnuts would suffice.
The salting techniques used by Jack Sulik would also be an educational
topic. Perhaps bring one of the trucks for.demonstration.
IV. :NEW BUSINESS
Mr. Newman brought up the the Bill that was passed by the senate in
the spring. S#50, Act relative to cleaning agents, (to limit or
reduce phosphates). Debate has been deferred till late spring. Is
our state representative in favor of this?
The Canoe River Acquifer Tour will be held at the December meeting.
Meeting will follow the tour. Mr. Hardin can get an Easton bus that
will hold 16. This tour would let us actually see what we are
protecting. By the next meeting confirmation of number of people
should be known. Only members may attend.
Kathy Romero reminded the Committee that a 3rd member fran Norton has
resigned making a vacancy. Letter of thanks and appreciation should
be sent.
The next meeting will be held in Foxboro on November 7, 1991.
Meeting adjourned at 2:45 P.M.
