Masciarelli, Kathy Romaro, Suzanne Erikson, Susan Mims, John

CALL TO ORDER: The meeting was called to order at 1:05 p.m. at
the Easton Water Department Meeting Room by Vice -Chairman Ed.
Tartufo.
REVIEW OF MINUTES: Motion was made by Bill Hardin to accept the
minutes of April 7, 1994, with one correction the ommission of
Shirley Davenport's name. Kathy Romaro seconded the motion,
unanimously passed.
JOHN FRESH JR.- SLIDESHOW PRESENTATION: John showed slides
relating to the Canoe River and explained points of interest.
Trout is stocked and put in the following locations: Maple
Street Mansfield, Route 106 Mansfield, Mill Street, Mansfield and
Newland Street in Norton.
FOLLOW-UP DISCUSSION ON ROAD SALT USE: Ed Tartufo asked Kathy
Romaro her thoughts on Sam Pollick, Hydrogeologist with the Mass
Highway Department who spoke at the April 7th meeting. Kathy
stated that she did not get a lot out of the presentation. Ed
felt that at least they know about the Committee and their work
and possibly something good may come out of the meeting.
DISCUSSION ON VIDEO PROJECT:Tim Higgins reiterated what he said
at the last Canoe River meeting that he has been unable to find a
coordinator. He will assist the person by writing text and
questions, but needs that one vital person to ready the camera,
do editing, etc.
Shirley Davenport has spoken with Phyllis Bernstein, Foxboro's
Cable Coordinator and they may know someone to do the project.
She will be invited to the next Canoe River meeting in Sharon.
Bill Hardin suggested that she be invited to the Awareness Day on
May 14th. Ed thought the Committee should request a grant for
the cable project.
SPRING AWARENESS DAY - MAY 14.1994: Bill Hardin questioned the
parking. Both gates will be opened from the Norton and Easton
end of Red Mil Road. Most people will park along the side of the
road. John Fresh stated that at least 30 cars can park at the
pump station. Suzanne Erikson asked when the presentation will
be held. Tim said there are two nice locations that are cleared.
Susan Mims volunteered to bring additional life preservers.
OLD BUSINESS: None
NEW BUSINESS: Tim Higgins spoke on a problem at Little Canoe
River which translates into a neighborhood dispute and that the
Foxboro Conservation Commission is on top of it.
Ed Tartufo passed around new correspondence.
A motion was made to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was
adjourned at 1:35 p.m.
Next meeting will be held on June 2, 1994, at the Sharon Town
Hall.
Respectfully submitted,
