CANOE RIVER AQUIFER ADVISORY COMMITTEE
MINUTES
SEPTEMBER 1, 1994
MEMBERS PRESENT: Wayne Southworth (Easton), Susan Mims (Norton), Kathy
Romero Norton F, Shirley Davenport (Sharon), Suzanne Erikson (Norton),
Phil Barske (Easton), Gail Sudore (Plymouth County WildlandsTrust)
I. CALL TO ORDER
The meeting was called to Order at 1:00 pm in the Norton Public Library.
II. REVIEW OF MINUTES
The draft minutes of August 4th were reviewed. Kathy Romero made a
motion, seconded by Suzanne Erikson, to approve the minutes with the
deletion of the letter "c" from Erickson.
Approved.
III. UPDATE ON VIDEO
The discussion of the video project was tabled to the next meeting.
IV. FALL ACEC MEETING
The Fall ACEC Meeting was briefly discussed. The Chairman will meet
on Sept. 13th with representatives from the other groups which will
be participating.
V. GRANT PROGRAMS FOR LAND ACQUISITION
Susan Mims, Suzanne Erikson and Kathy Romero met prior to the meeting
to identify possible land for acquisition. Potential sources of grant
funding will be researched prior to the next CRAAC meeting.
VI. WHEATON COLLEGE SERVICE DAY PROJECT
Suzanne Erikson gave an update of the clean-up work which took place
at the Canoe River on Red Mill Rd. during Wheaton College's Freshmen
Service Day. The students did a fine job and the President of Wheaton
College assisted the crew with their tasks.
VII. OLD BUSINESS
The Chairman reported that a letter had been sent to Mansfield Town
Manager William Williams requesting an update on the Mill Pond dam
repairs.
