I. CALL TO ORDER - Meeting called to order at 1:00 P.M. by
Wayne Southworth.
II. REVIEW OF OCTOBER 6TH MEETING - On a motion made by Kathy
Romero and seconded by Suzanne Erikson VOTED to accept the
minutes of October 6, 1994.
III. DISCUSS VIDEO PROJECT - Wayne Southworth noted that he
has two tapes which he would run at the end of the meeting (one
was done for Brockton; the other was a copy of the Awareness
Day). Presently there is nothing to report on the CRAAC's
planned video - to check status with Shirley Davenport.
t IV. UPDATE - LAND ACQUISITION PROJECT - Kathy Romero: they are
still pursuing the 60 acres in Norton mentioned at the last
meeting which abuts a tributary to the Canoe River. This has
been a joint effort with the Land Preservation and other groups.
The Water Department supports both the purchases but does not
have plans for a well.
Suzanne Erikson: arranged to speak with the Daggett -Newcomb
family and they sound like they might be interested in disposing
of some back land.
John Grant: on the tributary of Goward's Brook there are 3 or 4
pieces of 10 acres each that should be looked at. Also a 17 acre
gift of land was received from D. King off Norton Avenue that
immediately abuts the water property.
Ed Tartufo: all that is left is either wet or flood plain. Dick
Lewis: there is a piece with 50' frontage that runs along both
sides of the river and the owner came in with a proposal of
swapping one buildable lot for this land.
Joan Sozio: there is land along Beaumont's Pond that the ConCom
was working on plus a few other pieces.
Dave Masciarelli: working on a final 'open space plan' - not
sure what is available.
Wayne Southworth noted it would be nice to work on an inventory
identifying these parcels then invite the Nature Conservancy to
meet with us. (Such information to be directed to Kathy Romero.)

V. DISCUSS WINTER JOINT ACEC/WATERSHED MEETING - Wayne
Southworth: this meeting will be similar to the one we had last
year at Stonehill College. Kathy Romero: have an idea to have
an interactive land use game which would have role playing of
different interests; trying to find some grant funding to cover
the cost; also trying to spread the financial burden around; if
there is no funding by mid November will have to look at another
alternative; tentative date is Friday, November 3, 1995 at the
Martin Institute, Stonehill College. A lengthy discussion ensued
regarding funding: whether to charge .admission or not; donors
(need to create a list of potential supporters); conference
should be video taped for future use in short, commercial type
shots.
VI.' DISCUSS MASS. RIVER PROTECTION ACT - Wayne Southworth:
last meeting voted to send a letter of support - now we are
listed as a sponsor. Need to discuss the role of sponsorship and
our committee. Consensus of committee: requests for
sponsorship must be made in writing as it has to do with the use
of our name for support yet discretion can be used by the
Chairman.
VII. OLD BUSINESS - Joan Sozio: inquired if the Committee
wants to sponsor the Title V Board of Health Workshop. After a
short discussion, same was removed from the table.
VIII. NEW BUSINESS - Massachusetts Watershed Coalition have a
workshop meeting; Environmental Expo is coming up in May;
purchased a new book for our library entitled "Rural by Design"
by Randall Arendt.
Meeting adjourned at 2:36 P.M.
