IV. CANOE RIVER GREENBELT - Leonard Flynn is compiling lists from each
town of parcels along the Canoe River. He asked for help identifying each parcel by
k
the book and page number.
When the lists are completed a map will be made. SERPEDD might be able to assist
with the development of a GIS map.
All available parcels need to be prioritized. We could get records of test wells
along the Canoe River from the state.
The water departments of each town could acquire parcels that are in both
Zones I and IL
Discussed possibilities of funding for land acquisition from the Open Space Bond Bill. It
should help that the Taunton River Basin is a current priority for Massachusetts.
Wayne showed a video, entitled Watershed Partnerships. Suggestion that it could
be used as part of the publicity for the Canoe River Greenbelt Project.
