I. CALL TO ORDER — Meeting called to order at 1:00 P.M. by Wayne Southworth. Il. REVIEW MINUTES — Correction in section VIII Old Business; Philip Barske stated the author, Tim Higgins, should be thanked for the Canoe River pamphlet. III. RECAP ANNUAL AWARENESS DAY - A thanks to Bob Jones for putting together the Awareness Day location. Everyone was very pleased with the outcome and the weather. Comments suggested that in the future there is more general publication and targeting of Regional Schools. Phil said his wife, who is a writer, has volunteered to write press releases to help the CRAAC if we give her topics. IV MANSFIELD MILL POND — No one has spoke with Dick Lewis at this time. We do not know where the money will come from. Spoke with Barbara Hyland and once she has paperwork she will submit with the regular budget. The information needs to get to her this month. This will carry forward to the next meeting since V. MANDATORY MATER CONSERVATION MEASURES- Greg Meister began by proposing a water conservation plan for the CRAAC to recommend to his or her towns. Mixed reviews on the proposal. A Water Conservation Committee has been organized, but they have not met yet. Everyone seemed to agree that educating Towns was still a way to help the conservation issue. Jack Hamm is going to check to see if a town can mandate a sprinkler rule without DEP approval and without a Water State Emergency. It was believed that as of 1995 a Town could make water rules and site for them. It was voted that a letter from CRAAC would be sent to each town. The letter will indicate CRAAC's concerns and the importance of coming up with an ideal water conservation plan. This issue will have further discussion. VI. LAWN CARE SEMINAR- PLANS to have the seminar at the Sharon Community Center are underway. It will be a great educational seminar for all towns to attend. Mike Walsh will be called to discuss scheduling, price, and videotaping. Flyers will be made up to advertise the event. Each Town may want to target certain people. The videotape would be good to keep a copy at local libraries. Plans are to show the seminar on local cable. Sharon and Easton are already willing to help with the funding. The presentation is good for Board Members and for residents. Will go for a date as soon as possible this year. VII DISCUSS SELF HELP EiRANP APPLICATION AND LETTER OF APPROVAL FOR JOHNSON ACRES, NORTON — The application had to be in June 15f. It just received it yesterday and it has not been reviewed as of yet. Two letters were read. One letter was from Leslie Luchonok, Director of ACEC Program and the other from the Land Preservation Society of Norton. 111I. OTHER BUSINESS — Wayne received a fax from Kathy Romero with Grant information. One was for 3rd parties and the other was for Individual Water Supplies. Jack Hamm was asked by Pat Rogers to mention the type of stream gauges that we were going to use. CRAAC was waiting to hear what was needed. Information will be put together to send to Pat Rogers. Jack Hamm brought up the ACEC areas of the Canoe River in regards to Chp. 91 - docks and piers. A committee may want to be organized to develop management plans for these issues in the towns applicable. The CRAAC may want to serve as a holding point to show concern to the effected areas. Add to the agenda for the next meeting a "Groundwater Model' demonstration. All members should be familiar with how to use it. All in favor to suspend a July meeting. Next meeting Thursday, August 5, 1999 at Foxboro Town Hall Meeting adjourned at 2:50 P.M.
